About the course
The PADI Rescue Diver course at Lak Scuba makes you a more aware, capable and confident diver. You’ll learn to prevent problems before they happen, and to handle emergencies, big or small, underwater and at the surface.
Divers often call it one of the hardest and most rewarding PADI courses. It widens your awareness of dive safety and teaches you to look after others while staying in control under stress.

What you’ll learn
This course goes beyond self-reliance and teaches you how to:
Training includes realistic rescue scenarios based on real dive incidents, so you learn to respond calmly and clearly. The PADI Rescue course takes 3 days. To take part you need to be 12 years of age, be a PADI Adventure Diver (including the Underwater Navigation dive) or Advanced Open Water Diver, and have EFR Primary and Secondary Care training within the past 24 months, which can be done alongside the course.
- Recognize and manage diver stress
- Respond to panicked or unresponsive divers
- Conduct in-water rescues and exit strategies
- Perform effective searches for missing divers
- Provide in-water rescue breathing
- Use emergency equipment such as floats and lines
- Communicate and coordinate with your buddy and rescue teams
